Travelling around Australia in a motorhome. A story of our travels starting from NSW then through Queensland, across to Northern Territory and Western Australia, then to South Australia, Victoria and finally across the seas to Tasmania. We have enjoyed everywhere we have visited and look forward to setting off again in our motorhome.

Wandandian 24 2 2014

We woke up after a peaceful night to see wispy mist still drifting over the still water – a magical spot.
Admired an old house and invited in by the owner for a tour – reminded us of Dalmeny House. Reminded Peter of the B&B he used to stay in at Wagga. After picking up some supplies we drove north to Batemans Bay and then Ulladulla, stopping at the village of Wandandian for the night. Although we camped fairly close to the road, we had a quiet night and the next day had an early start and headed home.

Moruya 23 February 2014

After a tiring three days of music and comedy, we decided to head off after listening to D J Gosper and her blues band and camped by the river at Moruya. We always enjoy stopping here as it is easy to get around and a good range of services for a small town.

Cobargo 20 – 22 February 2014

Drove straight down to Cobargo and camped at the Cobargo Showground and although there were quite a few people already camping, we managed to find a good spot away from most of the loud music. The Cobargo Folk Festival is a lot smaller than Illawarra, but still a lot of fun. There are 5 venues, all in easy walking distance and if you don’t like the music in a concert you can just wander over to another one.
There were a lot of old favourites such as Glover and Sorrensen, Enda Kenny, The Beez and Kerrianne Cox as well as new acts and we enjoyed a great weekend of concerts and workshops. Like all folk festivals, there was a variety of musical genres to enjoy, including folk, blues, country, roots, bluegrass and even a bit of jazz. Peter also relished taking plenty of photos of the musicians and the people enjoying themselves.

Merry Beach 17 – 19 February 2014

Woke up to a bright sunny morning and our spirits soared. We drove down the coast to Merry Beach for a few days. This a great little spot that we have camped at a few times now. You can stay right on the beach and around dusk the kangaroos come down from the hills and munch the thick grass. Although there were a few windy days, we enjoyed the camp and managed to relax.

FEBRUARY 2014 SOUTHERN TRIP Berry 16 February 2014

After a hectic few days preparing for our high tea, we bit the bullet, packed up the motorhome and headed south – destination unknown. We got as far as Berry and with the heavy rain still pouring down, so we pulled over in a quiet spot for the night.
