Travelling around Australia in a motorhome. A story of our travels starting from NSW then through Queensland, across to Northern Territory and Western Australia, then to South Australia, Victoria and finally across the seas to Tasmania. We have enjoyed everywhere we have visited and look forward to setting off again in our motorhome.

Walgett 6 September 2015

In the morning we went to the markets, but only bought a rather large fruit cake. They reminded us of the markets at Dapto – lots of junk (I mean real junk). While some people are rich, most miners we spoke to are not well off and I think regard Lightning Ridge as a cheap ‘life style’ choice – where is Tony Abbott when you want him!!
Drove around the leases and checked out some more old hits, as well as an amazing old rusty church, right in the middle of nowhere, then headed south onto Walgett through very green country covered in masses of yellow flowers – Heather said she had only seen it this green a few times in her life. Settled into a free camp on the edge of town for a quiet night.
