Travelling around Australia in a motorhome. A story of our travels starting from NSW then through Queensland, across to Northern Territory and Western Australia, then to South Australia, Victoria and finally across the seas to Tasmania. We have enjoyed everywhere we have visited and look forward to setting off again in our motorhome.

Wyandra 8 July 2014

We drove north and the road changed dramatically when we crossed into Queensland and became much easier to drive, although the number of dead kangaroos remained the same. The road has become more isolated with mainly caravans and trucks. Because of the poor road conditions, we have been travelling slowly; however in the past few days we have travelled about 800km and only had about 6 vehicles pass us. Cunnamulla was the first Queensland town we drove into and although quite small, was a very pleasant town with a good range of facilities. Given the number of dead kangaroos we saw along the road, we were not surprised to see many of the cars around here have enormous bull bars We stopped at Wyandra for the night in a camp spot behind the school. Wyandra is a small village with a general store and pub and is very welcoming of travellers – wish more towns were like this!
