Travelling around Australia in a motorhome. A story of our travels starting from NSW then through Queensland, across to Northern Territory and Western Australia, then to South Australia, Victoria and finally across the seas to Tasmania. We have enjoyed everywhere we have visited and look forward to setting off again in our motorhome.

Lara Wetland 12 – 13 July 2014

Headed north from Blackall and then a 15km dirt track to a cattle property called Lara. They have a natural bore that flows into a lagoon which has created a wetland haven for birds and animals. Jo (our host) has just opened the lagoon for travellers and she was very hospitable. We camped right next to the water and then went for a swim in the bore, which was much hotter than we were used to (about50o) so we didn’t last long in it. That night we watched a full moon wriggle through the trees and rise above the water – magic. The next day we explored the property and chatted to some of the other travellers who all agreed that it was a fantastic spot to unwind and relax in a natural setting.
