Travelling around Australia in a motorhome. A story of our travels starting from NSW then through Queensland, across to Northern Territory and Western Australia, then to South Australia, Victoria and finally across the seas to Tasmania. We have enjoyed everywhere we have visited and look forward to setting off again in our motorhome.

Gayndah 7 August 2013

Camped at Gayndah overnight next to a large orchid and bought some oranges and grapefruit. Had a chat to a farmer and he showed us where the Burnett River had risen about 20m in the recent flood, with a nearby village having over 300mm of rain in 2 days. He lost his entire crop of orange trees and has to start again. Stopped at the small town of Mundubbera for lunch, which has made an effort to retain the charm of an old country town. Seems to be a prosperous area, with beef cattle the main income.
