Travelling around Australia in a motorhome. A story of our travels starting from NSW then through Queensland, across to Northern Territory and Western Australia, then to South Australia, Victoria and finally across the seas to Tasmania. We have enjoyed everywhere we have visited and look forward to setting off again in our motorhome.

Henrietta Creek 6 6 05

As it was raining, we decided to make this our waterfall day. The Atherton Tableland is a result of volcanic activity that left spectacular basalt gorges that plunge down to the coastal plains – hence the numerous waterfalls. Drove to Milla Milla Falls that plunges 30 meters over a bluff. Then onto Zillie Falls that we could only see from a platform above. We got lost driving to Ellinjaa Falls and ended up stuck on a farm lane with no more road left and mud everywhere with Peter doing a 10-point turn in the mud to get out!! Ellinjaa Falls was interesting as the water plunged in a series of rock platforms over the cliff. The countryside is very green, with lots of dairy farms around. Stopped at Henrietta Creek Reserve that we had to ourselves. At dusk saw what we thought was a wombat, except that we saw they were two baby feral pigs!! In the night, Heather woke with a start to a scary noise that turned out to be the pigs gnawing away at Clarry the Coconut. A little damaged but saved by Heather at 2am.
