Travelling around Australia in a motorhome. A story of our travels starting from NSW then through Queensland, across to Northern Territory and Western Australia, then to South Australia, Victoria and finally across the seas to Tasmania. We have enjoyed everywhere we have visited and look forward to setting off again in our motorhome.

Yungaburra 3 6 05

Visited the Chinese temple, which was the last Chinese building left over from the gold rushes. The National Trust has done a great job in preserving the area. Drove to Yungaburra, a small village on the edge of the tablelands. It seemed a lot like Jamberoo with mainly wooden buildings from the last century. Lake Eacham was beautiful – it is a small volcanic lake with saw backed turtles, surrounded by rainforest. Bought some scrumptious strawberry jam and sorbet from a farm called Shaylee, just next to Yungaburra. The farmer told us that they grow and make all their own produce. It was so delicious that we went and bought some more the next morning.
