Travelling around Australia in a motorhome. A story of our travels starting from NSW then through Queensland, across to Northern Territory and Western Australia, then to South Australia, Victoria and finally across the seas to Tasmania. We have enjoyed everywhere we have visited and look forward to setting off again in our motorhome.

Malanda 5 6 05

Went to Tolga markets and Heather bought some more plants – our bathroom looks like a conservatory! They live in a square bucket that gets put out each afternoon. Heather would like to add that there are only 6 plants total. They are to keep Peter's coconut company!! He picked up on a beach with Julie and Greg and it has 4 shoots growing out the top and lives in a basket. Greg named him Clarry though Heather keeps calling him names when he gets in the way. Went onto Malanda Falls and went for a bushwalk. Spotted a Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo. It is quite rare to see one during the day and we were amazed by its long tale that it uses as a weight to balance on a branch. Went onto Malanda to attend a music concert. The Malanda Majestic is a very old theatre that still has the Hessian deck chairs as seats. We chose the double seat to sit on. When you sit down you really recline!! We were warned and took pillows for our heads. Surprisingly, they were very comfortable and the concert was great. A mixture of folk, rock, blues and jazz! Stayed at a nature reserve on the Johnstone River and went looking for platypi in the morning, but no luck! Some people who are not wimps can climb down muddy river banks very quickly, or at least arrive at the bottom quicker than might be expected!!
