Travelling around Australia in a motorhome. A story of our travels starting from NSW then through Queensland, across to Northern Territory and Western Australia, then to South Australia, Victoria and finally across the seas to Tasmania. We have enjoyed everywhere we have visited and look forward to setting off again in our motorhome.

Winter Trip Queensland June – August 2013

Macksville 4 June 2013 We never thought we would get away for this trip – Heather had some late work, Peter was busy with house renovations and we were still packing the motorhome and on Sunday it was cold and pouring down, so we said "what the hell", stocked up the fire and enjoyed a warm and cosy day. On Monday the sun was shining, we said goodbye to Nicky and set off through the Sydney traffic – just glad we don't live in the city – couldn't stand the traffic jams. We got as far as Raymond Terrace and camped by the highway. Next morning we drove to Kempsey, which has just had a bypass built, so it was a lot quieter than normal. Bypasses are a mixed blessing, good for the residents, but not for the businesses they use in town. With Kempsey already having a number of vacant shops, time will tell if it is a good thing for the town. Stopped at an oval at Macksville – a pretty little town on the Nambucca River that we always enjoy visiting.
